    Ordered a new truck today.

Since we're moving in a couple of months(or at least when our house is finished) and I'm currently without a truck, figured if I order one now it should arrive around the time we start moving.

2021 Custom Trail Boss with 6.2. Not a lot of options on it other than the multiflex tailgate and the safety package(only way to get steering wheel radio controls). I'm sure I'll regret ordering black. lol

Not bad, probably the truck I would get if I was shopping for a Chevrolet, love the 6.2.

I still think the GMCs are too angular. That grille sucks too. No thanks.

It's coming. Probably before year end. If they unveil the new interior before this truck comes in and it blows me away, I'll probably just order a 2022 instead.

    Good looking trunk.

I just can't decide if that is the biggest truck ever designed or the smallest factory wheels and tires in the last two decades.

I'm pretty sure that looks perfectly normal in person. Just a bit awkward in that image with the white background.

Haha. 18" wheels with 32" Duratracs. They offer a 20" wheel on the Trail Boss but it doesn't come with Duratracs. I like them both but the 18" is cheaper.

Here's the 20" wheel. Disregard the awful Realtree graphics.

Yes. I'll be putting it up for sale soon. The plan is to get me a truck for daily duty, then in a year or so, order my wife a new C8 or ZL1. I'll let her decide but it will probably be a C8. That will be "our" fun new car. At some point, I'm going to get another 2nd gen Trans Am, an IROC or another 4th gen to play around with.

I bought a 6.2/10spd AT4 last summer and love it. After being disappointed in my 2019 Silverado 5.3/8spd, it feels like 80% of their engineering budget went to the 6.2 package.

It does't look normal in person. They are way too small for that truck. Otherwise it looks good, but the tires/wheels look silly on it.

    Black?! Ouch.

GM still accepting orders? I thought the gates slammed shut in Jan, but maybe that was just 3/4 ton+.

I'm still ordering. Nowhere near as much allocation available as normal right now but I've been able to order both HD and LD trucks.

Yeah, I just love the look of the Trail Boss in black. The black bumpers throw me off with the other exterior colors. Not crazy about that look.

Gotcha. HD ordering was supposed to be closed in Jan and a few orders were cancelled by GM because too many rushed in. That made a bunch of fleet news. I talked with the regional GM rep last week and he said the same... trying to talk me into switching over to GM products for my fleet, but for MY22.

Black is sexy, for a minute. I understand the two tone thing though.

I didn't realize you were talking about fleet ordering. Yes, they've diverted fleet allocations to retail dealer stock and sold units due to the supplier issues. Mainly due to the microprocessor shortage. I haven't been able to order a Work Truck since mid 2020.

Looks like my order got expedited. I was figuring on it being built in late April to early May. Today I checked the order it's scheduled for 3/29/21. Guess I'll just have to park it until after we close on our house.

For sure. I'm definitely not complaining. I'd rather have it ready and waiting than to have to wait on it to get built after we move. We went to Nebraska Furniture Mart yesterday and that just hammered home how much I need a truck.

Well, the truck is currently sitting at the rail yard in Mesquite, TX. Only about 45 minutes from the dealership. I'm hoping that it arrives tomorrow.

Looks fine, and looks like the front geometry is a little tight for something much bigger without lifting anyway. The wheels are good looking for sure.

I installed some steps this morning. I've had these in storage since I ordered the truck and have just been waiting on cooler weather to install them. They're Go Rhino RB20. I like that they don't hang down too low like most steps. Now my wife won't have to jump up into the truck.

    I personally like a 31in tire myself.

Factory trucks coming with 33s and 35s like the Tremor is nuts to me. Shitton of unsprung weight, and damn at keeping them balanced.

That is probably the best value in a Silverado. I built one just with the trail boss custom and it was just over $50k Msrp.

Super dutys have been coming with 35's for years.....its the big knobby tires that have trouble balancing. Fwiw the 33.5 ko2's on my truck have never needed balanced in 80k miles.

Better than most for sure. These were selling for MSRP at the time(they still are actually) and the rebates have gone down since then as well. When it was still showing in our dealer inventory(right before I purchased it), I had a dealer offer us $5k over msrp for it. I was happy to get it for $40k when I knew I could turn around and sell it for way more.

There's a huge gap in weight between 33's and 35's. The 33" and under sizes are still average truck tire weight. I went from 275-55-20 to 275-60-20 and actually lost 3lbs in the doing a wheel/tire combo. On a half ton that extra weight kills mpg's. I'd love to run 35's on my ram but it's just not worth the loss.

My High School truck had 33s on it,and that was seen as VERY BIG for a daily driver. Like, it got noticed eaisly. Anyone running 35s or bigger was rarely seen as a consistent driver.
    This was 1993ish.

The most I would run on my truck is 33s. The stock Duratracs are 32s and I do think it could use a little taller tire to fill the gap but I have no desire to get anything bigger than a 33.

I didn't notice much of a difference when I went from 33's to 35's on my Jeep... but then again, it is a Jeep. Bad mileage is bad mileage.

I'd like to eventually run 37's.

I swapped out the chrome emblems for black and replaced the stock Trail Boss decal with a red/black one. It has some orange in it though and I'm not sure if I like it yet. I still need to replace the bowtie on the tailgate with one that doesn't have chrome on it and get my hdmi ports blacked out.

Do all Trail Bosses come w/ badges? B/c I've seen some that I thought were TBs (black, same wheels, etc), but I didn't see any badges.

Yes they all do. There is a midnight edition package that has black badges 6.2L badges(if equipped), black tailgate lettering and black tips. The Z71 badges are still chrome on those though, which is weird because GM makes an all black Z71 emblem that comes on another truck.

That is weird... Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for the TBs. Guess I haven't seen one yet.

I like the front lights on my LT better but pretty much everything else is better on your truck
