Should be pretty peppy with the 2.0EB.

Is it a unibody, or a hybrid like the Ridgeline?

Looks pretty good, lol at even attempting to tow with that though, that's really not even a selling point at the point it's towing like an SUV. It's the bed that people really want.

Can't say I've heard anything about them one way or another.

Yeah and it sure looks better than the Ranger. Ford really bricked on that design

Without a doubt the worst looking truck on the road. And that +6in high ass. The fuck is that shit?

Supposedly, it's due for a reboot soon. Get the styling right, and do the 2.7 EB and I'll pay attention.

I dunno if I would say worst....I think the Titan or Silverado has that title.....but it's super meh.....its like they used styling from 90's Explorers..... just a very basic look. OK maybe the ass is too high. Lol

Well, I'm sure someone will like it. I would never buy a "truck" like that though.

That's because it wasn't a new truck at all when released in the US. It was sold in other countries years before it got here.

Irrelevant. Styling is still awful, and dated. Why bring a decade old design in as a "new" model?

Because that's all they had available at the moment. When you are entering a new segment, any sales is better than zero sales you had before.

    100k sales a year is 100k sales.

I don't think it will sell 100k units per year. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see this thing selling as well as the mid-size trucks.

His "quirks & features" and overall personality grew one me after a few videos and I've seen just about all of his content including his "More Doug" & "Cars & Bids" videos. He's also led me to watching the Hoovie, Tavarish & VinWiki channels and most recently, I've jumped on the Triple F Collection channel.

I meant Ranger. I do think this little thing will sell decently. It's cheap and it may catch on with teenagers early 20s crew.

Doug's my Go-To when I'm wanting to learn a lot more integral stuff about a car. He thoroughly goes over it and points out things I never knew or thought of with the features in the car. The quirks and features is my favorite part of his videos.

I mean pretty much. You look at the Colorado and it looks great, even in a base version. I think you gotta get a more square appearance like the F150, prioritize cab space and visibility and then make the 2.7 EB and 5.0 Coyote available all while keeping it light and compact enough that it feels nimble and compact when you contrast it with a full size truck.

Maverick is a smart vehicle that rounds out Ford's lineup. It's perfect for someone who would likely never look at an F-150 sized truck or is looking for a more of an entry level vehicle and doesn't need to tow a bunch. I bet these sell well.

Calling it now, 100k or more units easily in the first full sales year.

Yea if I actually needed a practical car this would fit the bill perfectly. I would never want an F-150 and this little thing has a way better looking interior and appears to be a good size at a good price, plus the styling isn't bad at all for a little truck. Odd since I too hate the Ranger but I like this little thing. It's nice to see such a low starting price as the target demographic, or at least part of it, can actually afford one.

Edit-I bet these will make good light utility fleet vehicles too.

Practicality is why I picked my Ridgeline. I've already had big trucks and got tired of their size when running around a city or the suburb I live in. Only thing I tow is a ATV trailer and I dont need a big truck for that.

and I hit 30mpg on the highway the other day at 75mph.

I like it. I don't quite need a truck bed often enough to want one over an SUV though.

    EDIT:
I actually really like the Flexbed features. The milti-p0sition tailgate, which lines up with the wheel-well height is a great idea. 4x8 sheets of plywood fit on it, which is great. I also like the 2x4 slots for making your own dividers and stuff for better cargo management. Also looks like there's built in D-rings for tiedowns. I wonder if there will be any neat tonneau cover options. One thing pickups lack is lockable storage area (which is why I'm so impressed with the F-150 Lightning's "frunk")

$20k starting price is going to sell this thing out everywhere. Just for shits I looked at FB marketplace for an old Ranger... found a 2011 with 42,000 miles and 4WD for for $21k. Yeah, I think I'd rather have a brand new one for a few grand more.

Edit to expose myself for lying: I get 30 mpg at 70 mpg if the conditions are right. Only 28 or so at 75.

Hopefully it brings the truck market, as a whole, down a bit.

These little suckers sell like hot cakes, other manufacturers are going to jump on board too... The large truck market could possibly end up on the decline. Especially considering how few of folks out there actually use a truck for a truck.

These little suckers sell like hot cakes, other manufacturers are going to jump on board too... The large truck market could possibly end up on the decline. Especially considering how few of folks out there actually use a truck for a truck.
I got laughed at at the hardware store for struggling to get two bags of sand in my bed around all my tools. I told the guy he had a nice car that said f150

I break out the calculator and keep records every single fill-up. Oh, and towing Airstreams went from 13 to 16 mpg. I even experimented one time and topped it off in Kingman, Arizona, and set the cruise control at 60 all the way to Amarillo, Texas. 39 mpg.

Edit to expose myself for lying: I get 30 mpg at 70 mpg if the conditions are right. Only 28 or so at 75.
no-one cares about modded engines running over-price diesel.

    Thanks, Dan.

Mogs, I was perhaps being a smartass with my first post. I'm pretty amazed that a full-size pickup can get the kind of fuel mileage I'm experiencing with absolutely NO loss of power. High priced diesel? Maybe. But I'm still saving money. Especially since the truck is now paid for.

Dodge collaborated with Mitsubishi quite a bit back then so it might have been a Mitsu with Dodge badges, I don't know.

Ahhhh... a transverse- mounted engine FWD "truck". That, sir, is not a truck. It's a car w/ a bed. How dainty.

Ziggy should have responded to him with "No one cares about trucks with a transverse-mounted engine designed around being a FWD".

And if mogs didn't like it, he could pull a tissue out of his fanny pack.

I don't see this happening and is it only non-truck people that think that truck people don't actually use their trucks as trucks? I don't understand this comment since everyone I know that owns a truck uses it as a truck. Yeah, it's great to have 4 full doors and room for the fam along with all the nice features of a nice sedan but my truck gets used like a truck.
