Not interested in having to deal with that.
Insure the motor... it'll just be a write off for them. Like this:

I would browse the BMW forums and find a good and mod friendly service advisor. Even if you have to take it to Nashville or Little Rock or something; it would be good knowing you could if you needed to.

Yeah that might be a good idea, I really don't plan on doing much other than intakes, downpipes and tune but the tune will void the warranty.

You can turn Xdrive function off if you just want RWD, I am sure it doesn't lose as much power through the drivetrain that way.

It's great on curvy roads, it's a little heavy but still handles incredibly well. I'd love to do the tail of the dragon with it but not sure I'll have be able to get there.

I ran my Jeep on tail of the dragon. It was fun even in a Jeep. I can only imagine how fun it'd be in something that handles like its on rails. One guy in a 1LE 6th gen was ripping it up on that road. He must have made 6 passes that I saw.

I've done tail of the dragon twice on two different motorcycles. I will do it in my Charger one day.

Yea, I was about to say... you don't need brakes all that much on the Dragon. Just put it in gear and leave it. Let the engine do all the work.

Sounds fun, I definitely need to try and do it one day in this thing. I am in Tennessee but it is at the other end of the state so it would be a 7 or 8 hour d rive to get there.

Mostly 81, it's about an hour longer than going through Ohio and Indiana, but I get free room and board for the night at my mom's in VA... I can't do a drive that long in one shot anymore.

Yeah I'm doing the Mr. Crazy pants thing and not flying, to go visit a client. It was either fly to Atlanta and deal with all that crap with a rental car and driving 4 hrs or try and connect to land in Huntsville or Nashville... and a connecting flight would literally make the whole thing take as long as driving... so I'm saving the company money and traveling alone with all my shit vs cramped between two strangers with a mask for a few hours... not even taking a company Escape *cough beat up piece of crap with bald tires*, just me an the Lezbaru.

Ok so I did a secondary downpipes today but was in a hurry and couldn't get a video. Here is a stock cold start video and I'll get one with the downpipes installed.

I'll be anxious to hear the aftermarket video.

Thanks to this thread, I saw/recognized an M8 on the road the other day. First one I've seen in person. Dude was moving pretty good. I tried to catch up to him, but as soon as I did, we were at our exit. Fine car... this one was a dark gray.

It sounds pretty good now with just the downpipes, I'll post it up tomorrow. The gray was in contention for me but ultimately decided on the white with orange interior.

Thanks, I am going to stick with that theme when I buy the intakes. They go in the grill and I am going to get them in blue with white piping to keep that same color scheme. This is a pic of one with red ones.

    Oh that's pretty cool.

Speaking of themes, etc... there is a girl here that drives a 550i that's debadged and has a lack grill w/ a red and yellow slot on 2 of the grills.

Is it this possibly? If so this is a common thing in the BMW world to do to show off the M colors.

Interesting, I'll have to look up the significance of those particular colors on a BMW.

    EDIT*

So it is actually Black, Red and Gold which is the German flag colors.

The BLUE represents the city of Bavaria by using the Bavarian blue found on its flag. BMW does stand for “Bavarian Motor Werks” after all, this famous shade of blue is also the same blue used in the BMW roundel.

The RED represents Texaco's red found in its logo. BMW partnered with the Texaco oil company during the early racing days.

The PURPLE color represents the merging of the two companies as partners in motorsport. Overlapping the blue over the red results in the color purple. This is a simple and elegant way to represent the partnership of two brands by

Off topic but I learned German from kindergarten straight through to 11th grade. I remember being so disappointed when I finally figured out what BMW stood for. I always thought it'd be something super cool and fancy but nope, literally just that
